Word of mouth or viva voce, is the passing of information from person to person using using oral communication. It is the spread from one person to another based on recommendation.
Customers become advocates because they are happy with a product and have a natural desire to share their support and enthusiasm.
Word-of-mouth marketing is actively encouraged by brands. Consumers trust their friends and they believe suggestions from friends and family more than they do advertising. This is why word of mouth marketing is the most valuable source of marketing.
From the digital perspective, word-of-mouth Marketing comes through online reviews written by other consumers. Prospective customer trust the review of others like the recommendations from personal contacts.
A strong word of mouth strategy at the heart of your business can lay the foundation on which to build everything else from.
It has helped to grow sales without the ad spend; it builds a community not a commodity; aids brand loyalty and helps to create buzz.
In order to get this, create an epic customer experience. As said by Alan Weiss, “Word-of-mouth is critical for Brand capitalisation” Word-of-mouth marketing shows that you are a trusted brand!
