“Stop writing about everything. So many brands create content and try to cover everything, instead of focusing on the core niche that they can position themselves as an expert around. No one cares about your special recipe… Find your niche, and then go even more niche.”
The rate at which everyone is trying to have a voice online has become so interesting. Special thanks to all the IT geeks who are developing new apps and software that have made it easy to become noticeable across the world. In fact, some of the contents that people create have multiple forms of expression. While reading one of the trade journals of my profession, PRMoment, I discovered that the excerpt of an interview was used as a blog post.
The internet has disrupted publishing, reading, commerce, music, and many others. The cost of becoming a media company is so low that you do not need to buy a media license like it was ages ago. Mediums like WordPress are free and social media are playing the role of word-of-mouth in the society.
The cost of entry to being relevant in the society today is content, if you are not putting out stories basically, you do not exist! Likewise, if you are not putting out content that is bringing value to people (that makes them think; educate them, or could affect their businesses); the massive volume of content that is being put out by businesses, entrepreneurs and other content creators drowned you out.
For your target audience to read your content, you need to ensure that the headline is catchy; focus on the consumer and use emotions so that they can easily connect and it will add to your level of intimacy.
Ensure that you find your message, find your voice and make an impact!
